Professional Career: In 1966, joined Patents department of Dunlop Rubber Co. Through various changes this became IP Department of BTR plc. Retired in 1998 from position as Senior Patents Manager and set up own practice, continuing as Consultant to BTR plc (now Invensys plc). Now fully retired from practice. Papers or Articles: Several articles in CIPA Journal on Design matters. Paper to joint meeting of Irish Association and CIPA in Dublin in 1999 on UK Design law.Services to Institute: Council Member 1998 to present. Secretary to Disciplinary Panel. Services to Profession outside the Institute: Attended Designs Practice meetings at Patent Office on behalf of CIPA. Past committee member TMPDF. Have lectured on IP matters on many occasions, mostly to companies in BTR Group, but also to other organisations such as Rotary and Probus Clubs.
