Services to the profession outside the Institute: Interview by local BBC radio concerning patent issues Other relevant information: If elected, I would like to represent those geographically removed from London – especially in the North. I was amazed to be informed that Council has never had a member who was located in Scotland and therefore seek to address this imbalance so that Council becomes more representative of its membership. As a Director of an Alternative Business Structure, I would also aim to promote diversity of choice in corporate structures within the profession. I have a particular interest in training, and have experience of training assistants not only in UK, but also for Ireland, France and Germany. For several years I lobbied the JEB for out-of-London examination centres and was delighted when this was achieved. I also suggested the “Murgitroyd Marking Initiative” whereby exams scripts for the P1 paper were marked by a team for a trial period.
