Bruce Jones Council Member |
Bruce Jones is a Chartered and European Patent Attorney and is also admitted as a solicitor. He acts for clients throughout the full intellectual property lifecycle and across the full spectrum of intellectual property rights. His practice encompasses: Acting for both claimant and defendant in all forms of intellectual property litigation, ranging from the management of complex patent disputes spanning jurisdictions such as the UK, the US, Germany and Italy, to the provision of a 'full-service' litigation in smaller value disputes before the Patents County Court (such as, passing off, trade mark infringement, design right and database rights). Bruce acts for clients in domain name disputes before Nominet. The preparation and prosecution of applications for patents, trade mark registration and design registration; and having appeared as an advocate on many occasions before the Technical Board of Appeal of the European Patent Office Bruce also has substantial experience in connection with oppositions and appeals. The delivery of advice and representation in connection with the commercial exploitation of all forms of intellectual property, including the drafting of licensing and other IP-related commercial agreements.
Bruce's first degree was in physics and he has experience of acting for clients in the aerospace, electronics, computing, mobile technology, optics, metrology, engineering, construction, medical instrumentation & treatments, RF technology, food technology and textile sectors.
