Bye-law 15 (which prior to the amendment of the Charter and By-laws in 2009 was By-law 14) contains provision for the membership to approve Rules issued by the Council with the object of maintaining a high standard of rectitude and professional conduct and promoting well-founded public confidence in the IP systems, in the Institute and in its members.
