The IP System under Attack1 October 2009 - 2 October 2009
Radisson SAS Portman Hotel, Portman Square, London W1
CIPA Congress 2009The Congress programme is based around debates on key issues, giving the protagonists in controversial issues a platform to air their views and offering delegates greater opportunity to make substantive contributions from the floor. Among the issues we are addressing in this way are the performance of the EPO, the concept of cheaper IP litigation, raising the bar on standards of examination, patents v competition and patents v open source software. A parallel stream will look at the most recent Designs case law and explore the issue of Adwords /Keywords. The programme will be punctuated by keynote speeches.
Although Congress will provide around ten hours’ worth of CPD, the programme will be relatively relaxed to allow ample time for networking and there will, of course, be a Gala Dinner on the evening of 1st October.
