Trade marks – Jordan

On 16 May 2010, the Jordanian Trademark Office announced a significant reduction in official fees, for example the fees for filing, publication and registration have been reduced by 30%. The fee reduction follows a sudden increase in fees in December 2009 and a subsequent reduction in the number of trade mark filings.

Designs – Bulgaria

On 28 April 2010, Bulgaria adopted a draft law amending the Law on Industrial Design. The new law is expected to come into force on 12 August 2010. The majority of the changes are procedural, for example the introduction of a new examination and registration system.
