The Intellectual Property Regulation Board (IPReg) has announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer, Fran Gillon. Fran replaces the previous Chief Executive, Ann Wright, who left IPReg at the end of July after eight years there.
Fran has extensive experience of regulation and the legal services sector, having worked at Ofgem, Postcomm. the Legal Services Board (LSB) and as a Special Adviser at Slaughter & May.
CIPA President, Tony Rollins, said: "We are pleased that IPReg has announced the appointment of Fran Gillon as its new Chief Executive. We look forward to working with Fran to ensure that IPReg is able to provide the framework needed to enable businesses and the public to have confidence in the regulation of IP professionals."
IPReg was set up in 2010 by the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) and the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA, back then ITMA) to be the independent regulatory body for the patent and trade mark attorney professions.
