Vicky is a proven IP specialist with over a decade of experience, working within various aspects of Intellectual Property. She has been working for Openshaw & Co. since January 2016.
Her responsibilities include managing the firm’s patents, designs and trademarks portfolio management system, supervising the paralegal support team to ensure that the day-to-day workload and demand is effectively and efficiently processed, as well as co-ordinating with outside counsel and clients to ensure that all business needs are met.
Vicky works very closely with the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys as a member of the Education and Professional Standards Committee, and is the Chair of the Administrators’ Committee.
Vicky passed the CIPA Certificate in Patent Administration qualification in 2007, and is now the Lead Course Tutor for this highly sought, specialised qualification. She became a Fellow of the Institute of Paralegals in 2011 and a qualified teacher in 2015. She is currently undertaking the Post Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property at Bournemouth University, with the aim of qualifying as a Trade Mark attorney.
