Key Responsibilities:

As a Patent Paralegal at our client’s firm, you will play a pivotal role in supporting patent fee earners within the organization (specifically in the software, AI, and quantum groups.) Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Instructing overseas associates for patent and design filings and responses.
  • Preparing cost estimates for clients.
  • Reporting filing, prosecution, and grant communications to clients, and providing draft reporting for fee earner approval.
  • Utilizing IP management systems such as Inprotech for efficient workflow.
  • Collaborating with clients, attorneys, and administrators to manage client portfolios.
  • Ensuring legal requirements are met for patent filings, including obtaining legal documents.
  • Handling administrative tasks such as diary management, invoicing, and document proofing.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Patent Paralegal.
  • A CIPA qualification
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
  • Proactive team player with the capacity to work autonomously when necessary.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including client-facing interactions.
  • Familiarity with electronic records and billing systems is a plus.
  • A readiness to work additional hours occasionally to meet deadlines.
