PEB: Vacancies for Question Paper Testers

The PEB Examination Committee comprises the Chief Examiners and the Principal Examiners. Principal Examiners draft the examination question papers.

As a key part of its quality assurance processes, the PEB appoints Testers to carry out the following tasks:

  • test the draft question papers by working through them in timed conditions the same way as a candidate would
  • submit their word-processed answers to the PEB
  • review the draft mark schemes
  • submit a report on the question paper to the PEB.

This work is undertaken between June and July.

Vacancies

The PEB is currently recruiting Testers for the 2025 examinations for the following units:

FC1, FC2, FC3, FC4, FC5, FD1, FD2, FD3 and FD4.

Skills and experience required for the role of Tester

Applications are sought from both recently qualified practitioners and experienced practitioners who:

  • have either recently passed the relevant examination or have significant relevant experience
  • are competent in the subject they are applying to test (having achieved at least 65% in the relevant Foundation Certificate examination, or at least 60% for in the relevant Final Diploma examination)
  • can meet deadlines.

Remuneration (2025 rates)

  • £250 per question paper tested
  • £350 per day (pro-rata for half day) if required to attend a Question Paper Evaluation Committee meeting

How to apply

If you are interested in applying, please send a copy of your CV, with a covering email explaining how you meet the person specification and why you would like to be considered as a Tester. Please clearly state which examination(s) you are interested in.
