Associate Patent Attorney, Physics, Suffolk

Job Description

Associate Patent Attorney, Physics, Suffolk

We’re pleased to be working with Dummett Copp, a strategically focused IP practice based in the East of England, on their latest recruitment drive. Their reputation has been crafted over years of providing fantastic commercial advice to clients across a vast range of industries including medical devices, offshore equipment, automotive, packaging, building materials, general mechanical, and consumer products. The firm’s ethos is centred around collaborating closely with their UK clients on a range of duties including providing pragmatic and clear advice throughout the entire IP lifecycle, drafting and prosecution, and EPO filings.

They are looking to add an additional qualified patent attorney to their experienced team based across both Ipswich and Cambridge to help with their existing practice, as well as building the business through new clients and identifying potential areas for growth within the established portfolio. The work is extremely varied and would suit a patent attorney comfortable dealing with an ever-changing technology base, switching from mechanical to medical devices to offshore all potentially within a day.

Dummett Copp thrive on their friendly and collaborative office culture, and believe that their success is based in part on their close-knit working relationships. With this in mind they would require some office presence, although hybrid is an option with part time working also possible. You will be personable and confident in front of clients, as well as being confident representing the firm at national and international networking events. Ideally you will be qualified with a generalist background across physics, materials science, or similar. More experienced applicants and those based overseas qualified in Europe/other jurisdictions looking to relocate will also be considered.
