Experienced Patent Administrator
Location: Abel & Imray’s Bath Office

Position: Permanent, full–time (hybrid working)

We are looking for a driven individual with excellent administration skills who is familiar with patent procedures and who can take the initiative in a fast paced environment.
You will provide a professional, approachable, and efficient support service to patent attorneys in order to assist in the delivery of the best possible professional advisory service to our clients.
We value team collaboration as well as having the ability to operate independently. Our ideal candidate has strong written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent attention to detail and strong IT skills.
You must be a highly organised person, able to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
– Preparation and tailoring of standard documents.
– Proactive preparation of official forms for UK/European/International Patent applications.
– Regular liaison with attorneys, clients, and foreign attorneys.
– Maintenance of electronic files.
– Overseeing diary and workflow for patent attorneys.
– Managing Work in Progress (WIP) charges and preparing invoices
(including managing client-centric billing requirements).
Requirements
– Experience in a similar position.
– Knowledge and understanding of the official forms used by the Intellectual Property
Offices.
Knowledge and understanding of formal procedures relating to patents.
An understanding of the critical importance of meeting legal requirements and deadlines.
– A good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook/Excel/Word).
– Familiar with OLF 2.0 and EPOline.
– Inprotech experience desirable but not essential.
– CIPA Introductory Certificate in Patent Administration is desirable
(although we will consider candidates seeking to take the examination in the near future).
