Patent Administration Course

Introductory Patent Administrators Course 2021-22

The Introductory Patent Administrators Course (IPAC) is the essential first step to becoming a qualified patent administrator. The course is only available from the CIPA.

Running for over 20 years, the CIPA-run IPAC has been instrumental in creating hundreds of fully trained Paralegals who are now confident to carry out their roles all over the country.

This year's course will completely virtual and will cover all of the topics new Paralegals need to be able to deliver day to day tasks confidently, e.g. patent principles, GP applications, and PCT with a mixture of face-to-face sessions (online), webinars and independent study.

The IPAC runs for around 12 weeks from September to December with an exam the following January.

In addition to receiving a qualification, if you pass IPAC you can apply for paralegal membership at CIPA, where you can enjoy webinars and socials, and you will also receive a regular newsletter with all the latest Paralegal news.
