CIPA Journal and newsletter

The CIPA Journal is available online, as a PDF and in print to over 4,600 CIPA members. An e-newsletter is sent to all CIPA members plus other IP professionals on the last Thursday of every month. Non-members can subscribe to the CIPA Journal, send an email for more details. The Journal is available on subscription in 2026 at £184 per annum for delivery in the UK (overseas addresses are: Europe £229, Other £263). Individual copies may be purchased at £20 for delivery in the UK (overseas addresses are £28). An online only subscription is available at £147+VAT.

CIPA’s members include all UK Chartered Patent Attorneys in addition to IP Paralegal, European Patent Attorney, Student and Associate members.

The ‘Pink Sheets’ of the Journal includes details of IP events and courses, job vacancies, as well as professional services including translators, education providers, overseas firms and consultants.

The Journal is published ten times a year, with a double issue in January–February and July–August.

Advertising costs and dimensions

To advertise in the monthly e-newsletter the costs and dimensions are:

• Full column (1120 x 320 pixels) £762 + VAT (£686 + VAT for members)
• 1/2 column (520 x 320 pixels) £485 + VAT (£437 + VAT for members)

Online only recruitment adverts 

• £375 + VAT (£320 + VAT for members) for a standard one-month listing.
• £550 + VAT for a featured job listing.
• £160 +VAT for a graduate trainee patent attorney listing (members only)
