Ever wondered what music has in common with Monet and Mars bars? The answer is copyright. This webinar aims to de-mystify copyright and show how it is a valuable right for both businesses and individuals.
The webinar will cover the basics, including the what, why, where and how of copyright: what is it, why is it important, where does it come from and how do we deal with it. Different rights, their origin, duration, ownership and assignment will be discussed, along with some common misconceptions. We will also look at infringement by considering recent cases in the news.

Dr Williams is a European Patent Attorney and Chartered Patent Attorney, and currently Head of Intellectual Property at Siemens plc. Her background is in physics and materials science, and, having trained in private practice, she has spent most of her career in industry. Her special interests include IP strategy and providing advice on the soft IP rights including copyright and trade secrets.
