In this webinar, John Fisher (Partner at Gill Jennings & Every LLP) will provide an overview of the key provisions of the Rules of Procedure of the EPO Boards of Appeal and their impact on appeal proceedings. Through real-life examples, the webinar will examine how the Boards have applied the rules in practice, with particular reference to the admissibility of new requests, evidence and arguments at different stages of the appeal procedure.

John has over 16 years’ experience of contentious proceedings at the EPO and has represented clients at over 100 hearings before the EPO opposition divisions and boards of appeal. He was the lead representative for the landmark board of appeal decision T1621/16, which was recognised as MIP Impact Case of the Year in 2021.
