Responsibilities and remit of the Public Affairs Committee:
To develop and oversee CIPA’s public affairs strategy, ensuring that its advocacy, policy engagement and stakeholder relations align with the Institute’s mission and strategic objectives.
To pursue a strategy to increase CIPA’s influence, to the benefit of all members, by considering and addressing all aspects of public affairs. These include (but are not limited to): Government and stakeholder engagement; Influencing and campaigning; Media relations and PR; Issues management; and Strategic communications.
To monitor political and policy developments that may impact the membership and provide advice to Council as necessary.
To liaise and collaborate with other CIPA Committees, as appropriate and where necessary, in the development of policy and campaign positions and responses to government consultations and requests for input.
To liaise, where appropriate, with stakeholders and other external organisations on matters related to public policy effecting the membership.
