A widely recognised practice in the IP sector is looking for an IT & Engineering Patent Attorney to support its expanding team.

The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of IT and engineering matters, advising clients on drafting, filing and prosecution, EPO oppositions and appeals, and contentious IP matters. The role offers exposure to a broad range of technologies and the opportunity to work closely with innovative businesses, providing commercially focused patent advice and developing long-term client relationships. There is also scope to become involved in wider activities such as business development, mentoring, training, recruitment and process improvement initiatives.

Candidates should be qualified as both a UK Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney, with a background in Physics, Engineering, Software, Computer Science or a related technical discipline. Experience supporting clients in the IT, software and engineering sectors, together with strong patent drafting and prosecution skills, is essential.

You will be comfortable managing matters independently, providing strategic and commercially focused advice, and building strong client relationships. A proactive approach and strong commercial awareness will be key to success in the role.
