The main focus of the work is contentious (around 70%), allowing you to work alongside fellow patent attorneys, IP solicitors, and specialist support staff on some really interesting and challenging cases

Responsibilities will include:

• Drafting and prosecution for a variety of clients ranging from smaller/sole entities to multinational and household names
• EPO oppositions and appeals, the provision of validity and infringement opinions, and due diligence and litigation support
• Involvement in UK High Court litigation proceedings and managing complex and high value cases
• Collaborating with spin-out and start-up companies to support IP creation and valuation
• Advising on portfolio development and strategy, future proofing all valuable assets, and identifying areas for potential growth
• Handling regulatory data protection and patent term extensions, such as supplementary protection certificates (SPCs)

Ideally you will have a background in organic chemistry with experience handling pharmaceutical cases, particularly in relation to more contentious issues such as oppositions and appeals. The role is based in London with hybrid working offered.
