Advanced Patent Paralegal Course Application

Course Summary

The CIPA Advanced Patent Paralegal Course (APPC) is a comprehensive course delivered with a mixture of live Zoom  and online recording sessions.

The first two years it is mandatory to be a CIPA Paralegal member to be able to apply for the course.

As the course is aimed at senior paralegals, we recommend that you have at least a few years of experience working within patent administration and formalities. The course runs from April through to December with the assessments taking place following Units 1, 2 and 3. There is no assessment following Unit 4.

The cost of the course depends on which element of the course you are undertaking:

Course and Assessments – £1,200.00 including VAT

Assesment Only – accessible by those who have failed ONE unit the year before – £300 (no VAT applied).

If a candidate has failed one unit out of the three units with an assessment, they can retake that one unit the following without re-attending the whole course. If a candidate fails the assessment at the second attempt, they will be required to retake the whole course and subsequent assessments.

If a candidate has failed more than one assessment, they must retake the whole course and all the assessments.

Payments can be made by credit or debit card at the time of application or by invoice. Invoices will need to be settled by no later than 31 March 2025. Failing to pay the invoices on time will mean losing your place on the course. If you need any changes to be made to your invoice, please contact us at [email protected].

If you are applying from outside the UK, please contact us at [email protected] to discuss VAT exemption.

Online applications should be made by the applicant only and require the applicant to agree to the course policies and regulations.

Please agree to all points above to proceed.
