Christopher Gibbs has been an examiner for FD3 for many years, and Principal Examiner for the last half-dozen or so. His career has been in private practice before both the UKIPO and the EPO, now acting as a consultant.

Tom Turner, Abel & Imray LLP

Tom is a Partner at Abel & Imray LLP, and has been an FD3 examiner since 2015. Tom’s patent work is mainly in the chemical field with a special focus on polymers, reactor technology, homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, and petrochemical processing, with a little mechanical engineering work thrown in from time to time. Tom joined Abel & Imray LLP after completing a PhD in organometallic chemistry at the University of Bristol, and now splits his time between the firm’s Cardiff and Delft offices.
