Introducing a groundbreaking belt splice technology

Ecobelt Ltd has introduced a groundbreaking belt splice technology, AnnStuMax, addresses the primary mode of failure of conveyor belts, namely the splice.

Traditionally, >82% of conveyor belts fail prematurely at the splice because it is typically only 33% as strong as the carcass of the belt. AnnStuMax significantly strengthens the splice, making it up to 5 times stronger than the belt carcass, thus extending the belt’s operational life well beyond the historical norm.

Life Cycle assessments conducted by Henry Royce Institute and the University of Manchester have validated AnnStuMax’s effectiveness, with some trials demonstrating belts lasting up to 21 times the historical lifespan. Remarkably, no belt using AnnStuMax has failed at the splice to date.

The environmental benefits are substantial. By extending the life of conveyor belts, AnnStuMax reduces the need for frequent replacements, saving billions of litres of water and reducing CO2 emissions by millions of tonnes annually.  The very first belt [<6m²] has saved so far 269Kg of PVC going to landfill, 1780Kg CO²e, 70,000Ltrs of water and 8,622KW of electricity % £153k from replacement and associated downtime costs. There are now >2800KG of belt in use with this technology.
