Caelia is recognised as one of the patent profession’s leading experts in contentious proceedings. IAM Patent 1000 describes her as “one of the finest European attorneys, a true credit to the profession”. Bringing 30 years’ experience in IP, Caelia specialises in complex, high-stakes contentious proceedings, including multi-jurisdictional cases, before the EPO and UP. Caelia’s physics degree and an award-winning doctorate from Oxford University provide a strong foundation for her passion, and expertise in a range of technical fields, particularly MedTech and healthcare. She works closely with CEOs, IP leaders, and investors, and is trusted for her strategic, commercially astute approach.

Caelia plays an active role in the wider profession. She is an elected Council Member of CIPA, a Chair of CIPA’s UPC Committee, Chair of its Professional Development Working Group, and is an Advisory Board Member for IP Inclusive. One of the founding members of the IP Ability Committee, Caelia champions inclusion with focus on neurodiversity, strengthened from both family, and profession contexts. She chairs Kilburn & Strode’s charity fund. In between IP, bringing up her family, and as much cycling as possible, she has run a small vineyard in Kent for several years.

Hannah is a paralegal working at Page White Farrer and joined the IP profession four years ago, telling the gentleman who interviewed her that she “loves a puzzle that needs digging into” and unknowingly describing the job in a sentence. She passed the CIPA IPPC exam in 2024.

With a seeming knack for finding herself a woman in male-dominated spaces, Hannah is now a powerlifter and a competitive archer representing the South Leeds Archers, and enjoys encouraging women and girls to look beyond the optics and take up any sport that makes them happy. Hannah was diagnosed with autism as an adult in her 30s.

Hannah is a member of the CIPA EDI committee and the IP Inclusive Business Support Professionals Working Group.

Alicia graduated from the University of Leeds with an honours degree in Colour and Polymer Chemistry and was awarded a PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry for her research in the area of photochromics.

Her research included altering the molecular structure of naphthopyrans to develop predictive techniques for producing molecules of tailored wavelengths for use in the ophthalmic industry and resulted in seven published scientific papers.

Currently, Alicia works particularly in the fields of chemistry, dyes and pigments photochromic materials, medical devices, laboratory consumables, toys, clothing, oil & gas and natural sciences in general.

Alicia is a Chartered Patent Attorney, a European Patent Attorney and a Chartered UK Trade Mark Attorney, having won the Payne/Bennett Memorial Award for scoring the highest mark in the UK for one of her Final Trade Mark examination papers.

Alicia has also obtained the Intellectual Property Litigation and Advocacy Certificate at Nottingham Trent University which enables her to represent clients directly before the High Court.

Alongside sitting on the Council for the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys’ as a Past President for 2022 and being an active member of their Trade Marks and Design & Copyright Committees, Alicia also sits on the Council of FICPI-UK as treasurer and the Council of EPI.

In her spare time Alicia enjoys crafting in particular knitting and crochet and she’s often found with a ball of wool and needles around her person, she also enjoys tinkering with cars and has rebuilt a couple of rotary car engines in her front room!

Emma Marfé is a neurodiversity focused workplace needs assessor, consultant and coach, supporting law firms and other professional-services organisations to build neuroinclusive ways of working into everyday practice.

With a background in the legal sector, she brings practical insight into the realities of high-demand, high-detail environments, Emma helps organisations and individuals to improve performance and wellbeing through clear, inclusive systems.

Emma is dyslexic and ADHD, harnessing big picture thinking and lived experience storytelling, she speaks and trains on neuroinclusive workplace culture, advocating for better inclusion of neurodivergent individuals.

Cassandra is a Partner in the Intellectual Property Disputes group in the Innovation department. Cassandra heads up Mishcon de Reya’s IP Enforcement group.

Cassandra is a tenacious litigator who combines her deep technical expertise with her care for and interest in her clients and their businesses.

She specialises in the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights (trademarks; passing off; design rights; copyright; confidential information; and patent disputes). She also advises on commercial disputes, dealing with contractual, licensing, tortious and fraud.

Cassandra has an extensive practice in unauthorised parallel imports (grey market products), anti-counterfeiting, and anti-piracy matters. She utilises a blend of civil and criminal enforcement to achieve success for her clients.

Cassandra has significant injunctive experience, particularly in the technology and gaming sectors. She has obtained numerous search and freezing orders, computer imaging orders, third party disclosure orders and online blocking injunctions in a variety of sectors.

She acts for a wide range of high-profile clients, including those in the IT, pharmaceutical, life sciences, luxury goods, beauty and wellness, and clothing industries where she advises on all aspects of brand protection and enforcement, including providing strategic advice.

Cassandra is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion. She sits on Mishcon’s Disability Equity Committee, is a member of IP Inclusive, Women in IP (in which she is part of the Career Guidance focus group) and sits on the committee of IP Ability.

She is also a member of INTA (in which she is a Parallel Imports Committee Member), London Solicitors Litigation Association (LSLA) and the Fraud Women’s Network.

With six years’ experience in the field of patents, I work as a Patent Paralegal at Kilburn & Strode. In November 2025, I was diagnosed with ADHD, hyperactive type, which has inspired my passion for fostering an inclusive and understanding workplace.

I am excited to launch the Neurodiversity Community Network at Kilburn & Strode, aimed at creating a supportive and inclusive environment that values neurodiversity and mental health. The networks values Mindfulness, Inclusion, Nurture, Diversity, and Support (MINDS) align with our company’s values and aim to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and foster a more inclusive culture.

I firmly believe that the more we understand our own minds and those of our colleagues, the better we can collaborate and thrive together. Understanding and embracing diverse ways of thinking not only enhances individual success but also drives creativity and innovation across the firm.
