CIPA Informals UK Intellectual Property Office visit 1

The CIPA Informals Committee is pleased to announce that in-person visits to the UKIPO in Newport are running again this summer. These visits offer a valuable opportunity for trainee patent attorneys to tour the UKIPO, gain insight into its work, and meet with Examiners.

Attendees can expect the day to include:

  • An introduction to the UKIPO
  • A tour of the UKIPO Newport building
  • A presentation on inventive step in the UK (including a potential discussion/Q&A on the recent Emotional Perception Supreme Court decision)
  • An opportunity to meet UKIPO Examiners, including learning about the software they use and how they conduct their work
  • A claims drafting workshop
  • Free lunch

 


Places are limited to 25 attendees per day, so please book as soon as possible. please note that bookings will close on Wednesday 24th June

  • Intended mode of transport
  • Whether you will you require transport from the UKIPO to Newport train station
  • Car registration number (if applicable)
  • For those planning to travel by train, whether you will you require transport at the end of the day only from the UKIPO to Newport train station (expected to cost approx. £5–10/person and payment will be requested in advance), please note that attendees are expected to make their own way to the UKIPO in the morning.
