Cath Coombes is a Director, Patents at Murgitroyd. She has a particular interest in CRISPR technology having spent over a decade being involved in oppositions and prosecution of patent applications in this field. Her experience encompasses early patents in this field manipulating CRISPR as an innate bacterial immune system to gene editing applications, diagnostics and antimicrobial applications. She has written numerous articles on CRISPR and provides comments on CRISPR IP for various journals, such as Nature, Science and The Scientist.
