Developing your litigation strategy

In a series of three webinars, we will be discussing some of the strategic decisions to be made in any claim in England & Wales. In this first webinar, we will be considering the choices to be made at an early stage when litigating, including pre-action correspondence, jurisdiction selection, preliminary injunctions, expedited trials and court selection (Patents Court, Shorter Trials Scheme or Intellectual Property Enterprise Court).

Antony Craggs, Shoosmiths

Antony is a partner at Shoosmiths specialising in intellectual property, with a focus on litigation. He advises clients across all rights and a variety of industries, including medical devices, chemicals, electronics, mechanical products, consumer goods and retail. As a solicitor advocate, he has extensive experience of leading on disputes before the UK courts and the UK Intellectual Property Office. He is also often charged with managing multi-jurisdiction disputes and enforcement campaigns (including across the US, Canada, Germany, France, the Unified Patents Court, the European Patent Office and the European Intellectual Property Office). Antony sits as an Appointed Person, hearing trade mark appeals from the Hearing Officer at the UK Intellectual Property Office. He is also a tutor at Oxford University on the Post-Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law & Practice and the author of the UK chapter for Global Patent Litigation: Strategy & Practice.
