Event Overview

This webinar will explain the latest thinking in patent procedure and strategy in Latin America.  It will focus on the legal situation in the three largest economies in the region, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, with expert speakers from all three jurisdictions.

In addition to essential knowledge for UK practitioners seeking to obtain protection in the region, the session will cover the latest thinking on important topics including the patenting of medical methods, software patents, and enforcement.

Leonor represents a wide range of national and international clients, helping clients secure IP assets in Brazil, including drafting and prosecuting of patent applications patentability analysis, freedom-to-operate analysis, oppositions, appeal proceedings, litigation support, technology transfer, and general consultancy in IP matters. She specializes in chemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology, immunology, medical devices and diagnostics, as well as pharmaceutical products. She also acts before the Brazilian National Health Surveillance Agency and before the Genetic Patrimony Management Council regarding access to access to the Brazilian genetic patrimony.
