In this webinar, we’ll be unpacking what long-arm jurisdiction means, how it works, and why it matters.
Abi and Matt have been keeping a keen eye on developments at the UPC since the first decisions commenting on and excising its long arm were handed down 18 months ago. They have presented on and reported on this topic numerous times, covering everything from the foundational Fujifilm v Kodak decisions to the latest Court of Appeal rulings and the UPC’s first CJEU referral in Dyson v Dreame.

Matt is an Associate in the Tech team at Kilburn & Strode, where he advises high-tech clients on patent enforcement strategy. Drawing on a background in computational physics, he specialises in infringement risk assessment, competitor analysis, and building infringement positions across large patent portfolios. Matt also works with clients to maximise the strategic value of their IP, helping them develop filing and prosecution strategies that align with product roadmaps and protect key markets against copycat competitors.
