Oral Proceedings via Videoconference: Procedural Aspects for Paralegals

This one hour Webinar designed for Paralegals will explore together with EPO experts the current status of opposition oral proceedings via videoconference having a closer look on the typical flow of administrative actions involved before the oral proceedings and includes also a Q&A session.

Focus will be on technical guidelines and requirements including the necessary procedural steps like requesting an email address for sending the connection details (ZOOM Link), specifying contact persons with an email address/telephone number. What to know about the test-call offer. How to keep private data (personal email credentials and the like) non-public (data protection requirements).

Christina ten Hövel, EPO

Christina is a Key Account Manager and Patent Administration (PA) expert. She has worked with the EPO since 2003 in different positions and has been a PA expert for 20 years. Since 2015 she is a Key Account Manager and has participated in various projects around the EPO’s Online tools and services.

She has accompanied the roll out of MyEPO to the user community since its launch.

Hans-Georg Vogler has a history as a formalities officer at the EPO, then became a team manager and has always been involved in projects, for example when introducing the electronic file in the late 1990s, as a project manager for EPC2000 and other projects throughout the years. Since 2008 he has been a team manager in the central group for practices and procedures always dealing with change management for formalities processes. Today Hans-Georg is an administrator in the directorate “Procedural Support” having contributed to implement oral proceedings being held as a videoconference in examination and opposition.
