Event Overview

We are pleased to announce the Patent Agents Golfing Society’s first event of the year. All members are invited to attend this event.

The first meeting this year will take place at SWINLEY FOREST GOLF CLUB, NR. ASCOT, (Tel: 01344 874979 – Secretary’s Office) on Tuesday 28 March 2023 when we will play for THE GREAT SEAL (Stableford Competition).

The Leisitkow Medal will be presented to the runner up. Members with handicaps of 20 or over will also be eligible for the first round of THE BENNETT-SMITH TROPHY (stroke competition) and those with handicaps below 20 will be eligible for the first round of THE ARMADA DISH (stroke competition). The four players with the best stroke play scores in each competition will be entered into the semi-finals of the respective competition.

All in fee of £152 for members and non-members.

Members must book online. Guests may be invited to this meeting. If you wish to bring a guest, please book yourself in online and then send an email to [email protected] giving details of your guest. An invoice for your guest will then be issued. Guests must be over 14 years of age. As Swinley has now increased its upper limit to 60, there should be room for all members and guests. If you would like to bring more than one guest, please contact us.

Each booking includes temporary membership, morning coffee and a bacon roll, 4 course lunch, tea, VAT and staff gratuity. The “all-in” charge for a non-player is £70 but there is no reduction for only one round of golf.

We need to have a minimum of 20 players for the event to go ahead. If we do not receive 20 bookings, the event will be cancelled.

Additional club information

Only wide wheel trolleys are permitted on the Course. In the Dining Room a jacket is required but a tie is optional. There is a no smoking policy. Golf shoes are not permitted in the Bar or Lounge and golf clubs must be left outside the Club House. Mobile phones may not be used in the Club House. The Club House opens at 7.00 am and coffee and bacon rolls are available on arrival. The Club House closes at 6.00 pm (although all “kit” must be removed from the changing rooms by 5.30 p.m. and last orders in the bar are at 5.30 pm). Should you have need to contact the club during the day, please note the number to ring is 01344 622065. If anyone requires a caddy or petrol-driven buggy, please contact us by 9 March.

There will be 3 balls played in the morning, and in the afternoon as fours. Whilst members play for The Great Seal and the two stroke play competitions in the morning, guests will have their own Stableford competition, all from the yellow tee markers. In the afternoon it is proposed to play a greensome Stableford competition from the white tee markers. The first tee is reserved from 8.00 am to 9.30 am in the morning and from 2.00 pm to 3.00 pm in the afternoon. A starting sheet will be provided on the table in the Club House Hall and you should sign up on the sheet on arrival, together with your playing partners. This will set a starting order on the first tee.
