Event Overview

The Supreme Court in Shanks v Unilever held that pursuant to Section 40 the Patents Act, Professor Shanks was entitled to £2 million pounds in compensation for his invention which had delivered a net profit to the employee of around £24 million.  With rare experience in this area, Andrew Lykiardopoulos QC of 8 New Square explores this landmark case, how it might impact on every day practice, and its potential to influence employee compensation cases in the future.   Chaired by Gwilym Roberts from Kilburn & Strode LLP, there’ll be ample opportunity to question our speaker on this hot topic.
