Andrew began his patent attorney career in 2006 with a leading London and Bristol firm, qualifying as a UK patent attorney in 2010 and a European patent attorney in 2011. He joined Stevens Hewlett & Perkins in 2025.

He has extensive experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications across technologies including computing, software, telecommunications, 2D/3D printing, AI, and household appliances. He also specialises in healthcare innovations such as ophthalmic laser systems, medical image processing, medical data management, and personal care devices. Andrew has a strong record representing clients before the EPO and UKIPO, including in oppositions and appeals.

In addition, he advises on design rights and manages registered design filings for products ranging from GUIs to VR devices. He holds a Master’s degree in Physics and the Universe from the University of Reading.

Andrew supports both global corporations and start‑ups, serving as IP Advisor in Residence at SETsquared Bristol. Outside work, he enjoys endurance sports, having completed the London Marathon (2021) and Ironman Wales (2023).

Heather Chapman is Head of IP – IP Governance at Ocado Group, where she works with teams across the business to ensure that intellectual property supports and enables innovation in a fast-moving business and technology environment. With a background in engineering and materials science and 20 years’ experience in IP, she has built her in-house career across a variety of roles, joining Ocado in 2019.

At Ocado, Heather is part of a team that continually evolves to meet the changing needs of the business. As new technologies, priorities and challenges emerge, the team regularly rethinks its processes, governance and ways of working to keep IP relevant, practical and aligned with commercial objectives, while anticipating the business’s future needs.

Her work spans capturing new inventions alongside engineering teams, shaping group-wide IP policy and awareness, and helping the business navigate both current and emerging IP challenges.

Before moving to Ocado, Heather trained in private practice and has held a number of in-house roles giving her experience of IP from both private practice and corporate perspectives.
