Advanced Patent Paralegal Course 2025

CIPA is pleased to announce that the long-awaited Advanced Patent Paralegal Course (APPC) is launching as a virtual course for the first time in April 2025. The course runs from April through to December 2025 with the assessments taking place following Units 1, 2 and 3. There is no assessment following Unit 4.

Registration will open on the course webpage at 10am on Monday 27 January 2025.

Key information:

• Online registration opens – 10am Monday 27 January 2025
• Online registration closes – 5pm Friday 28 February 2025 (or when capacity is reached)
• Course and assessment cost – £1,200 (incl VAT)

This course has limited capacity and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Once full, no waiting list will be available, so candidates will need to reapply for next year’s course. There are no limits to the amount of candidates from each firm.

Candidates will be asked to fill out an online registration form with their personal details.

Please note that during the first two years it is mandatory to be a CIPA IP Paralegal member to be able to apply for the course.

We recommend that you have at least a few years of experience working within patent administration and formalities.

Payments can be made by credit or debit card at the time of application or by invoice. Invoices will need to be settled by no later than 31 March 2025. Failing to pay the invoices on time will mean losing your place on the course.
