The first letter to President Campinos concerns the recent change in the EPO’s notice under which extensions of time have been available in the light of the coronavirus pandemic (read here). The second relates to arrangements for oral proceedings (read here). The latter has been revised in the light of the pandemic, but it appears that the EPO wishes to make the changes more permanent.
In his earlier letter to President Josefsson, Richard urged the Boards of Appeal to postpone oral proceedings during the pandemic (read here). We are advised that this will be done but have seen suggestions that there might be variations from case to case.
