It is with enormous sadness that The Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys marks the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Her Majesty gave a lifetime’s service over eight decades to the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth and was our longest-serving monarch.

CIPA was founded in 1882 and was incorporated by Royal Charter in 1891. We were honoured to receive a visit from The Queen during our centenary year of 1991.

Her Majesty is pictured below with CIPA President Clifford Lees signing a photograph of her and the Duke of Edinburgh.

CIPA has sent condolences to the Royal Family and shares in the nation’s grief at this time.
