This webinar will review the legal requirement of sufficiency of disclosure. We will discuss which cases can generally rely on background knowledge and which ones require examples, or even evidence that the technical effect claimed can indeed be achieved.

Patricia Escolar Blasco, has been examiner at the EPO in Munich since 1999. She works in the Team Biopharma – medical use and belongs to the Opposition Directorate. Passed the EQE in 2008. She worked as a technical assistant of board of appeal 3.3.04 in 2014-2015. She is also a CEIPI tutor, and cooperates frequently with the European Patent Academy doing presentations for judges, professional representatives and examiners of national patent offices.
Compliance with Article 83 EPC being a key point of discussion in medical use cases, Patricia deals with arguments related to sufficiency of disclosure in most of her examination and opposition cases.
